ABOUT US
About Chabad
Chabad-Lubavitch is a philosophy, a movement, and an organization. It is considered to be the most dynamic force in Jewish life today. Our mission is to treat every Jew with love and care and to inspire them to embrace and be proud of their Judaism. Through intellectual debates and discussions, engaging social events, and a warm and cozy atmosphere for Shabbat/Holiday meals and programs, we aim to empower every Jewish student with the tools to grow in their own unique way.

Our "no-judgement" approach allows Jews from all backgrounds and affiliations to feel comfortable and welcome at Chabad, wherever they may be.

Inspired by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, there are thousands of Chabad centers in all 50 states and over 100 countries. Chabad Georgetown is based on the ethos of Chabad-Lubavitch, which has at its foundation the encompassing mitzvah "to love every Jew as one loves themselves" and to permeate that love with practical and meaningful Mitzvahs - (good deeds or acts of kindness).

I am incredibly thankful to be part of the growth of Chabad Georgetown, which has touched so many Jews on campus, especially mine. I am looking forward to strengthening the Jewish community at Georgetown in my final semester!

One of the many things I love about Chabad is the amazing people I get to talk to and I am looking forward to more amazing discussions on Shabbat about the Torah and how it connects to modern society.
